4th Anniversary in South Park, CO

Trent and I explored South Park, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Mt. Princeton for our anniversary. I think that's our favorite kind of trips; driving a lot and doing fun outdoor stuff. We found a snuggly little (big) cabin in South Park (yes the one and the same) on airbnb.com and I am a total convert to that website. If you're looking for a place to stay whether last minute and dirt cheap or planned out and luxurious, that website has the perfect escape for you. We booked this cabin when there was literally nothing else available on Expedia or Orbitz except a La Quinta room for $300 a night. This entire cabin was $120 for two days!

The cabin had electric heating but Trent was so stinking excited about this wood stove we just used it instead. It's just like the ones he used while serving his mission in Orsono, Chile!

Our first day Trent taught me how to cut wood, then we went on a snowshoe hike around the very desolate neighborhood. The woman whose house we stayed at let us use her snowshoes! Just another perk staying with airbnb.com (at this rate, you'd think I was getting paid to advertise for them...but I'm not!).

Later that evening, we drove to Mt. Princeton to their world renown hot springs! It was so beautiful, relaxing, and need I say ROMANTIC. Our favorite area was actually the part that didn't even cost money for entrance. Chalk Creek runs through the springs and you can bury yourself into the rocks to get the perfect temperature of boiling and freezing water. It was a fun little game and absolutely magnificent realizing this personal jacuzzi was completely natural.

Day two we drove to Breckenridge and walked through the city.  It made me pine so hard for a snowboard day but we didn't have our own gear and couldn't convince ourselves to rent on top of the crazy day pass price. Even still we made the best of it! Later we went ice skating in Keystone lake, the largest natural iceskating lake in CO. It was both Trent and my first time skating on a real lake and it was super different! Much more wobbly (my gif certainly proves it).
